As Christmas draws closer but you’re short of time, why not take your children for a fun-filled day in the pristine wilderness of Finnish Lapland’s far north? We have a few different dates and departure airports to choose from, making it easier for you to spend a day in Santa’s kingdom and still be home in time for supper. On our Winter Wonderland daybreak, we take you and your family to a magical location, close to a vast snow-covered wilderness and a million miles from other overcrowded and over commercialised Lapland destinations. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by a Representative and whisked through snowy forests and past frozen lakes to a scenic winter wonderland. Put your thermal suit and boots on and head into the snow for an action-packed day amidst a vast snow-covered wilderness in magical darkness. Excitement mounts for both children and parents as you venture in search of Santa’s hideaway cabin, the ultimate highlight of your one-day trip.
On your one-day Winter Wonderland trip, there’s a chance to sample a range of winter experiences that are guaranteed to get you in the Christmas Spirit. Whizz along on a sled pulled by energetic huskies or be soothed by the gentle padding of reindeer as they guide your sleigh over the frozen tundra. Your trip also offers the chance to experience a snowmobile trip - adults with a full UK driving licence have the opportunity to drive through the silent snowscapes (children pulled in a sleigh behind guide). Warm up around a crackling log fire or in the restaurant with a buffet lunch. And of course, the highlight of the day, each family will get to meet Santa in his log cabin, deep in the woods. Share your Christmas wishes with him during a private family encounter. And there’s even ample time for trying out tobogganing or even enjoying a friendly snowball fight during the day - great fun for all the family. All major activities take place on a frozen lake or river. Your Transun representative will guide you, in order to make the most of your time in the magical wonderland.
Children: £499 (Age 2 - 15 yrs)

Due to the extremely cold weather conditions, we generally do not recommend the day trip for infants under the age of 2 since children feel the cold most.

HOW LONG DO I GET IN LAPLAND?
Between the aircraft landing in Lapland and departing again, there is usually 7 - 8 hours. To save time on your return, you will be given your boarding card for the flight home when checking in for the outbound flight in the UK. Please keep this safe.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE IS A DELAY ON THE FLIGHT?
If there is a delay leaving the UK on the outbound flight, we will endeavour to delay the return inbound flight by the same duration, so you do not lose time in resort. A delay of the return flight is at the discretion of the operating captain and cannot always be guaranteed. If the delay to the outbound flight is likely to exceed three hours, it may be necessary to cancel the departure since we may not be able to provide a full day’s activities in resort, but such an occurrence is very rare.
WHAT CURRENCY SHOULD I TAKE?
The currency in Finland is the Euro. Many establishments in Nordic countries will not accept cash and only accept payment by debit or credit card. Please note that additional drinks throughout the day are not included.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Temperatures can reach as low as -40c in the winter and so it is imperative that you bring adequate clothing for the weather. We provide a thermal all-in-one snow suit and snow boots on arrival in Lapland, but you should wear multiple under layers and bring hats, scarves and gloves (and plenty of pairs of socks!)
