Candian F1 Grand Prix 2024 Thursday 6 June 2024 Early Booking Offer....Book by 11 August for £3299 (Save £200pp) This is a new destination we have added to our extremely popular F1 holidays for 2024.
For three days, Montreal is decked out in the colours of the most celebrated F1 teams as enthusiastic crowds from across the globe cheer on the greatest drivers in the world. Be there to see who will reach the highest step of the podium in this stunning 70-lap competition covering 4361 metres of the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve. Many operators off packages based at airport hotels. The place to be is downtown which is where we have chosen. This obviously comes at a higher price.
Feel the grandeur of skyscrapers as you walk the broad streets of downtown Montreal. Beyond its French heritage, Montreal is a metropolis built on cultural synergy. From Little Italy to Chinatown, the philosophy of Montreal has always been to celebrate all cultures cohabiting within it, and no other city has done it better. Montreal has a free spirit, one that its residents uphold, and confers a powerful energy. Don't be surprised if, after a few hours only, you catch yourself smiling like a true Montrealer.
From long shopping streets and cute neighborhoods to glossy and huge modern buildings, Montreal's cityscape offers as much variety as its population. City of the 100 bell towers, it has not rejected its past, and one can still encounter old religious buildings such as the beautiful Saint Joseph’s cathedral or the stunning Basilique Notre-Dame.
At night, the city awakens with new energy, and there is always something to do: festivals, fireworks, nightclubs, and more restaurants than one can count, just to begin with.
From historical landmarks to atmospheric neighborhoods to lose yourself in, Montreal could very well be one of the coolest places on earth. There is enough to do and see to fill up an entire holiday, and every season brings its own charm. Frozen lakes in winter leave way to flowery mounts in spring, and sunbathing in the summer disappears into the maple colors of fall. Whether you choose to use the incredible public transport network, walk, or ride a bicycle, you are sure to enjoy a break in Montreal.

Tuesday 11 June 2024 9:30 Montreal to Ottawa This morning we will depart Montreal for Ottawa via the Laurentians. During our travel we will enjoy magnificent scenery of the Laurentian Mountains. The route meanders through rugged, forest-clad hills and deep valleys. This mountainous region is rich in flora and sanctuary for moose, deer, beavers and foxes. Once in Ottawa, sightseeing highlights will include views of Parliament Hill, the residences of the Prime Minister and Governor General (the Canadian Monarch`s representative in Canada), the National Arts Centre, and the Byward Market. Ottawa As Canada’s capital, Ottawa is the perfect place to experience some of the country’s best attractions, celebrations and flavours in one welcoming city. With its unique blend of urban and rural beauty, year-round outdoor activities, and vibrant neighbourhoods, the Ottawa region is best explored over three days or more. Stellar location Located between Toronto and Montreal, and just north of the eastern United States, getting to Ottawa is easy. And since the metropolitan region stretches across the Ottawa River to Gatineau, Québec, you can visit two provinces in one destination. Cross one of the bridges, take a boat across the river, or even ride the world’s first interprovincial zipline, Interzip Rogers (seasonal)! Walkable urban spaces Around every corner on both the Ontario and Québec sides of the Ottawa River, you’ll find unique, safe and walkable neighbourhoods to explore. Try craft beverages and fresh cuisine, shop for big brands or local designers, and admire colourful urban art. For instance, the historic ByWard Market area is always bustling, with its year-round farmers’ market, restaurants, cafés and nightlife, as well as unique spots such as the original kiosk of the world-renowned BeaverTails pastry treat. Local flavours The diverse culinary scene in Ottawa includes everything from food trucks to fine dining, as well as dozens of craft breweries, distilleries and wineries. Chefs and residents benefit from a bounty of fresh products from over 1,000 farms— more than Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver combined—and shop at popular farmers’ markets. Many local chefs trained at Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa Culinary Arts Institute (the famed school’s only official campus in North America) or in culinary programs at local colleges.
Accessible outdoors Pristine outdoor spaces within the city and in the nearby countryside offer a wide variety of activities in all four seasons. The region is framed by beautiful waterways, including the Ottawa River, the Rideau River and the Rideau Canal—a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From spring through fall, you can go boating or paddling; for an adrenaline rush, one of the world’s best whitewater rafting destinations is just over an hour from the city centre. Winter weather brings opportunities for snowshoeing and skiing (cross-country and downhill), as well as ice skating options ranging from trails in the forest to the world’s largest skating rink, the Rideau Canal Skateway. Rich culture Ottawa is the perfect place to soak up national and regional cultures. Parliament Hill, the seat of Canada’s federal government, welcomes visitors on free tours of its historic buildings. Seven of Canada’s nine national museums immerse you in Canadian history, art, war, aviation, science and more. The National Arts Centre represents the entire country through orchestra, dance, variety, and multilingual theatre programming. Other sites of national importance include the historic Fairmont Château Laurier (the first in a series of hotels constructed by the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway Company), Rideau Hall (historic home of the Governor General of Canada), the RCMP Musical Ride Visitor Centre (where the renowned horse-riding group practises), Laurier House National Historic Site (where famous prime ministers lived) and the Diefenbunker: Canada’s Cold War Museum (a real bunker-turned-museum). Check-in at Courtyard by Marriott Ottawa Downtown Courtyard for 1 Night on a Bed & Breakfast Basis (see accom for details)
Wednesday 11 June Ottawa to Kingston Today we depart Ottawa following a route that takes us through rolling farmland, following the rivers and lakes of the Rideau Waterway. We enter in the beautiful Thousand Islands Region to Kingston. We embark upon a relaxing cruise. After taking in the sights and sounds of this river playground, we make our way to Kingston. Kingston, Ontario, Canada is a city rich in history and culture. We were first settled in the 1600s on First Nation lands named Katarokwi, and were later referred to as King’s Town in honour of King George III (until it was shortened to Kingston in 1788). Check-in at Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, Kingston for 1 Night on a Bed & Breakfast Basis Thursday 12 June Kingston to Toronto Off early today, we enjoy a pleasant drive west. Following the north shore of Lake Ontario, we pass endless miles of rolling farmland. We arrive in Toronto by late afternoon. A sightseeing tour of Toronto, featuring such highlights as the financial district, Old and New City Halls, the entertainment district, the St. Lawrence Market, the Flat Iron Building, Queen’s Park with the Ontario Legislative Buildings, the University of Toronto, Chinatown, Fort York, the Exhibition Grounds, views of the Rogers Centre (formerly the Sky Dome) and views of CN Tower. Remainder of the day is at leisure Check-in at Holiday Inn Downtown Toronto for 2 Nights on a Bed & Breakfast Basis Toronto is a bustling and ever-evolving multicultural hub of Canada. Home to over 2.8 million people, the city organically brings together a multitude of cultures and offers plenty in terms of art and entertainment all year round. It's the most populated city in Canada, as well as the capital of the country's province of Ontario. The city's many districts each have their own unique flair, and some of the latest architectural creations liven up the cityscape and make for some amazing backdrop for unique photographs. Toronto's location on lake Ontario adds a refreshing breeziness to the vibe of this busy metropolis, and the abundance of green spaces and parks make Toronto a city incredibly livable. Toronto hosts a multitude of festivals throughout the year, boasts a plethora of sights to keep visitors busy for days (Canadian Niagara Falls are a stone's throw away from here, too), and boasts vibrant shopping and dining scenes. Friday 13 June Free day to explore Toronto Saturday 14 June Toronto to Niagara Falls This morning we motor south, skirting the industrial towns of Oakville and Hamilton, through the orchards and vineyards of the Niagara Peninsula. We arrive mid-morning at the historic village of Niagara-on-the-Lake, home of the Shaw Festival. Here we discover a small but thriving community, proud to display a carefully preserved nineteenth-century atmosphere. Time will be allocated to explore the village and browse through the shops and boutiques. In the afternoon, we follow the scenic Niagara Parkway to Niagara Falls, the honeymoon capital of the world. After a thrilling boat ride on the “VIP Boat Tour (Formally Maid-of-the-Mist)” along the Niagara River to the very foot of the thundering falls. Niagara Falls is in the Niagara Region peninsula, which is famous for it's wineries, recreational activities, fruit stands, hiking, biking or walking trails, year long events, rich history, and peaceful quiet moments on the beaches of Lake Ontario or Lake Erie. The falls themselves are located directly on the US-Canada border, but the world-famous and iconic Horseshoe falls lie mostly on the Canadian side. The falls are famous not for their height, for there are taller waterfalls in the world, but for the astounding volume of water that constantly flows over the edge of the falls fueled by four of the five great lakes, a flabbergasting 750,000 gallons per second at its peak.
