Lapland… what dreams are made of Wednesday 22 December 2021 (3 Days) Departs Doncaster Airport Please note that this is NOT in the Balck Friday Sale
As the countdown to Christmas begins, there could be nothing more magical than visiting a true winter wonderland. Santa's Lapland offers a landscape of pine trees speckled with glistening snow, crisp white expanses of Arctic wilderness and of course, it is the time-honoured home of Father Christmas himself. Our short stays in Karesuando offer an insight into True Lapland, where a timeless charm is instilled in the traditional ways of a far-flung village 300km above the Arctic Circle. Step into this enchanting scene, with enough time to indulge in the wonders of Lapland: from a magical Search for Santa to a husky experience, your short break will be filled with magical experiences that we’re sure you and your family will never forget. What's included
Your short trip to Lapland includes a number of winter activities. There are few experiences quite as exhilarating as journeying across the icy terrain on a snowmobile through Arctic snowscapes - children ride in a sled pulled by your guide’s snowmobile. Your trip to Lapland also includes boarding a sled pulled by a lively team of huskies amid the fells, forests and frozen lakes of Europe’s last wilderness. But there’s little that can match the thrill of your children meeting Santa. Excitement mounts even more as your family sets off on a reindeer-drawn sleigh in search of Santa’s hideaway log cabin where a warming encounter with him awaits, the highlight of this unforgettable trip to Lapland. Adults: £1199 Children: £1099 (Age 2 - 15yrs)

The Davvi Arctic Lodge is a charming, simple hotel set on a quiet, secluded hillside in the border-village of Karesuando. The beautiful restaurant, its circular design inspired by the shape of a Sami reindeer corral, is the hotel’s centrepiece and from here you can enjoy panoramic views over the snow-covered hillside to Swedish Lapland located just across the border.
Deep in the heart of True Lapland, and located on the official Northern Lights route, Karesuando offers once-in-life-time Arctic experiences without the crowds. For those looking to stay in the Swedish side of the village we also offer Northern Light stays at the Arctic Star hotel. Click on this link for a video of the lodge https://youtu.be/k21YNpX8Tp4

IS THE RESORT COMMERCIAL AND KITSCH?
Far from it! Our Snow is Falling tours operate in Karesuando, in the north of Finnish Lapland. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty with spectacular scenery which is known as ‘True Lapland’ – unspoiled by the ways of mass-market tourism found in Rovaniemi and Saariselka.
ARE THE EXCURSIONS AND SAFARIS A SPECIFIED DURATION?
Lengths given are approximate and can sometime vary dependent on weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control. For instance, it may be necessary to curtail husky sledding if temperatures drop to -30c since the activity may pose a safety risk for the guests and a health risk for the dogs.
WHAT CURRENCY SHOULD I TAKE?
The currency in Finland is the Euro. Many establishments in Nordic countries will not accept cash and only accept payment by debit or credit card. Please note that additional drinks throughout the day are not included.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Temperatures can reach as low as -40c in the winter and so it is imperative that you bring adequate clothing for the weather. We provide a thermal all-in-one snow suit and snow boots on arrival in Lapland, but you should wear multiple under layers and bring hats, scarves and gloves (and plenty of pairs of socks!)
CAN I ADD ON ADDITIONAL EXCURSIONS AND ACTIVITIES WHEN IN LAPLAND?
If you wanted to make your holiday extra special, it is possible to add on additional activities to your tour after arriving in Lapland. However, availability of activities and excursions is limited and so we recommend that you book your place before you travel to guarantee your place. The most popular activities added on to the Snow is Falling tour are the igloos, ice fishing, and these are likely to sell out first.
